A useful review packet lets the responsible person locate the same interval you are looking at. It does not need your whole work history, an unedited pay statement or a conclusion that someone must agree with.
The five fields that do most of the work
- Interval: the relevant work date and start/end references, including the next date for overnight work
- Sources: the permitted schedule reference, time record reference and statement period, with their observation or issue dates
- Comparison: what differs, using the original units and a separate arithmetic line if helpful
- Unknown: what you cannot establish from the records you have
- Question: which record or explanation would resolve that unknown
This is an editorial checklist. It does not replace a required employer form or reporting process. Use the workplace-approved channel and its instructions. Ask what identifying information is needed there; do not send that information to this publication.
A fully fictional packet
The point of this packet is that another person can answer with a record, not just an opinion. If the answer reveals that the statement belongs to another period, update the comparison rather than defending the original assumption.
Use an index before an attachment
A short source index can be enough for a reviewer who already has authorized access: record type, date, permitted reference and the field in question. Do not attach an entire record merely because it is available. Pay statements can include addresses, deductions and other private information that is unrelated to a one-shift question.
If a workplace contact requests documentation, confirm the destination and follow that approved process. Remove unrelated material only in a clearly labeled review copy; preserve the original unchanged in the place you are allowed to keep it. Never include passwords, one-time codes, bank account details or identity-document images in an editorial contact message.
Choose the question the record can answer
“Why am I short?” asks the recipient to discover both the interval and the supposed problem. “Which time entries are included in this line for this date?” starts with a traceable fact. Once those entries are established, a remaining policy or payment question can be directed to the appropriate workplace contact.
Allied Universal’s 2023 public announcement described LISA as helping with timekeeping and payroll discrepancies. That dated description does not promise a particular correction workflow, deadline or outcome. Use the employer’s current instructions rather than this article as procedural authority.
Record the answer without closing unrelated questions
When a response arrives, keep its date, the specific record it addresses and any stated next action. “Entry reviewed” may not mean “statement changed.” “Adjustment processed” still needs to be matched to a period and line. Continue to following an adjustment for that final comparison.
For legal rights or an unresolved wage dispute, consult an appropriate official labor resource or qualified adviser. This publication organizes records; it does not assess entitlement, determine violations or provide individualized payroll advice.
Sources and limits
Public-source review: October 16, 2026. The reasoning and fictional examples above are editorial analysis; no private account, payroll record or authenticated interface was examined.
